Fall 2025 NWA Fire Training Academy
South Campus: Fayetteville Fire Training Center, 2505 E Borick Dr, Fayetteville, AR 72701
North Campus: Bella Vista Fire Training Center, 7 Carlisle Dr, Bella Vista, AR 72714


The NWA Fire Training Academy is held twice annually. The academy is approximately 10 weeks, and it is held at a location to be determined in the Northwest Region consisting of all member departments as they work to bring you the best-trained firefighters. In the first week prior to the start of each academy, recruits will attend what is called a “pre-academy” where recruits will receive the following pre-requisite courses:
- Personal Protective Equipment
- Haz-Mat Awareness
- Haz-Mat Operations
- NIMS ICS 100 – Take Online at https://training.fema.gov/nims/
- NIMS ICS 200 – Take Online at https://training.fema.gov/nims/
- NIMS ICS 700 – Take Online at https://training.fema.gov/nims/
- NIMS ICS 800 – Take Online at https://training.fema.gov/nims/
- Wildland Firefighting
If a candidate is not currently EMS licensed, a First Aid Provider certification is required.
- First Aid Provider 40-hours – Contact Battalion Chief Pat Lee at the Springdale Fire Department for specific dates prior to academy.

Departments shall utilize this checklist ASAP, complete it, and send in the form to the Fire Academy Coordinator to ensure your candidate has a reserved seat. Also, please arrange for any payment due.
