NWA TRAINING OFFICERS’ ASSOCIATION

Training Officers’ Association Meetings are scheduled at 10am on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Unless otherwise specified, meetings will be held at Springdale Fire Station 6.


  • Deputy Chief John Vanatta Jr., Siloam Springs Fire Department, serving as President.
  • Deputy Chief Jamie Baggett, Lowell Fire Department, serving as Vice-President.
  • Battalion Chief Brian Sloat, Fayetteville Fire Department, serving as Secretary.

The Northwest Arkansas Training Officers’ Association is a subsidiary of the Northwest Arkansas Metropolitan Chiefs’ Association.  Our Training Cadre’ is comprised of well-qualified and experienced instruction staff, dually approved by the Arkansas Fire Training Academy (AFTA).  In cooperation with many departments within the Northwest Region of the Great State of Arkansas, our Association and training cadre’ works tirelessly to train new firefighters year round.  Our academy prepares the newest candidates to receive top-notch education in today’s modern fire service.  We look forward to serving the citizens and visitors to our communities, and we hope to provide you with the utmost professional, committed, and compassionate service possible.

The Arkansas Fire Training Academy provides accreditation, support, and oversight for firefighter training throughout Arkansas. SAU Tech. AFTA.
